🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 With the front page of today's @ScotNational in mind, by sheer coincidence, I bought a book last week called 'Addresses Against Incorporating Union 1706-1707'. The book cover.

The artisans demonstrated literacy and political engagement by attaching papers reading 'No incorporating union' to their hats.
The Colquhouns told the Union where to go.
