Know this. Most young women have experienced a traumatic encounter of some sort with young men. We remember exactly where we were. We remember everyone who was there. We remember every single detail of it, drunk, buzzed or high and anyone that says otherwise isn’t being truthful.
The exclusion of memory of course is being roofied. It also doesn’t mean all men are evil, it means when we’re young we fumble through hormone hazes and awkwardness, it’s when we’re just figuring out our voice, our boundaries and ourselves. It’s called growing up.
Worst part is, during that time we’re so clumsy we don’t even know how to tell the boys “hey not cool” so we keep stumbling along until each person figures it out. Apart from the bad seeds (they do exist) it’s really no ones fault. Raise your kids to use their voices.
Just need to be real clear here, I didn’t say raped, or violently assaulted and I didn’t say every man was responsible. Chilllllll I’m saying some events might be traumatic for one person and absolutely forgettable by the other not because they’re “predators” 🤦♀️
