Look. If your first response to millions of women telling us they're afraid of and systemically oppressed by men is to worry at how all this talk will negatively impact "the good ones"...

...you're probably not one of "the good ones".
"Oh, you're just virtue signalling," sneers Skippy the Masculine Wonder.

Look, Skippy. The bar is pretty low right now. Considering how many men aggressively signal their boorishness, never mind anything approaching "virtue", let's not pretend to worry about sincerity just yet.
And, yes, I am sub-tweeting Skippy, someone I know IRL. Deal with it, Skippy.
Oh. Oh oh oh.

Skippy messaged me to complain about my public dragging. This kind of thing should be done privately, he said, despite the fact we had this very conversation already. In private.

"I take it you are worried about your reputation?" I asked. Irony went undetected.
He ended his message by calling me a "cuck".

Yes, "cuck", the mating call of the male ego so fragile it could be knocked over by a gentle breeze. A gentle, feminine breeze caressing the supple...

...oh, there it goes.

Alas, poor Skippy. Your manhood went unremarked.
Okay, Skippy brought up something I feel I need to address.

"I'm shocked," sez he, "that someone who's been called a transphobic racist and worse would have so little empathy for what could happen to men at the hands of those with an agenda."

I have two (2) things to say.
1) Yes, there are people who argue in bad faith everywhere. Maybe the things they've said have merit, maybe they don't, but they're worth 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔, Skippy. Why? Because of thing #2.
2) Nothing they say about 𝑚𝑒 will make me forget that, at their heart, these people are fighting. And hurting. I don't always take the criticism well, it's true, but I acknowledge they have the right to give it... because I can never know what they're going through.
So, Skippy, I guess at the end of the day all I can try to do is be better. That's it. That's what I should be worrying about: how I, personally, can be better.

I did want to text this to you, but you blocked my number and all. So here I am, getting the last word anyhow. 🙂
