A thread on the right-wing use of "postmodernists":
You might have noticed that JBP and his fans alternatively refer to Marxists, intersectional feminists, postcolonialists and even plain left-libs as "postmodernists". It clearly doesn't refer to any specific theoretical strand.

Even when you point out how everything they know about postmodern theory is wrong, they just go "It doesn't matter, the practical consequences are the same". It's like acting like they have theoretical backing behind their label uses is just there to give those labels weight.
So, what's the point of the term when it does not refer to any particular movement or theory? I think it's a necessary component of JBP's type of political thinking. You have a whole, valid, healthy political entity and it's ideal - JBP calls it "Western civilization".
But if this political entity is ideal, why are so many people unhappy? Why are so many people unsatisfied? Why all these problems? It can't be structural flaws in the system bc the system itself is ideal. It must be a parasite contaminating or corrupting the system.
The parasite is of course the postmodernists. How do you deal with it? Policy change? Enforcing stricter academic standards? (Clearly not, as JBP's fav book on postmodernism has no academic standards) The way you deal with a parasite is by exterminating it.
And so the solution JBP once proposed is a program that detects "postmodern terminology" use among professors, and if it reaches a certain amount, they get doxxed and you encourage them to get fired. (I don't like the over-use of the word "Orwellian" but come on)
It's all an outcome of his general political outlook. It's not structural flaws in the system, it's the wrong individuals being in charge - you just have to get rid of the individuals.
(Maybe also related to JBP's training as a clinical psychologist, where individual flaws is often all you focus on. He's not able to give structural explanations behind the existence of postmodernists - it's all individual flaws, like them just being evil and hating the west.)
