A short story FOR EVERY WOMAN.
It was 6am when she was brought in dead.
She had been Pushing and bleeding for hrs in a 'Maternity'. 1st Pregnancy.
Her husband was inconsolable. He rolled from one end of the compound to the other.
Our hearts were broken.

Dr Z walked out the hospital still reeling from the aftermath of the incident.
Maternal Mortality from Pennywise causes.
Hmm
Then she saw him.
In a bar just across. He was on his 3rd beer.
And no, he had no semblance with the Inconsolable 'Roller coaster' from 1 hr ago

Then he saw her.
As if in reply to unasked questions, he started;
“Doc, Ka awachienu uwa George. Onwuola nu. She is gone. Life goes on.
I dey wait ambulance, I say make I take one bottle for the road.”
He sipped.

She wasn’t even cold yet.
Z nodded in condolence.
He spoke

"Doc, my wife was very stubborn, she registered here o. I told her to deliver here, in a Govt Hospital. But no, she heeds the advice of her friends more. She went there on recommendation. Hebrew woman. She has gone to Hebrew now. I am a widower"
"Nagide. Be strong" Z Said

10 months later, Dr Z is seated in the Antenatal clinic
A couple walks in.
She loved to see Husbands supporting their wives.
She smiled.
Looked up to greet...
"Doc Doc, Na you dey here? I don come o. Na my new wife be this. Darling greet Doc na"
It was Mr Roller coaster.

Just 10 Freaking months down the line.
He had Mourned, Remarried and Impregnated a new wife.

Dr Z sipped from her bottle.
Africa.
She imagined the reverse being the case. Lol
Anyway it was not her business since women were still yet to get it.

It is the woman who dies.
