The Daily today helped me understand that the GOP wants to see #KavanaughHearings as a trial so the standard of “beyond a reasonable doubt” will assure he walks. But Democrats (and I) see this as a job interview, not a trial.
This is about all we know of this job candidate versus how he has presented himself. There’s a pattern: “Keg Club” days, Yale heavy drinking and belligerence, THREE named accusers, yearbook references. #KavanaughHearings
Kavanaugh’s yearbook is essentially his Offline Facebook page. "Bart O’Kavanaugh" in the book Wasted is his Tumblr. And we know employers look at your social media for insights into character to help make hiring decisions. #KavanaughHearings
The job Kavanaugh seeks is all about character. As a member of the SCOTUS, he literally sits in judgement of us all: other judges, corporations, citizens, laws, the President. In a job predicated on judgement, the character of the judge is one of the most important factors.
So does Kavanaugh have the character to sit in judgment of America? Has he demonstrated that he deserves a lifetime job on the highest court in the land? Or have we seen enough of a pattern to say, no, we can do better? I think we can do better. Tell your senators 202-804-8191
