In case there are any honest brokers out there actually calling for more investigation (seems doubtful), I will do a final thread explaining why this is a dishonest tactic that isn't meant to lead to the truth.
1) What the committee has been doing in the last week (getting testimony etc) is an investigation. That was the whole point.

On the FBI: 1) It's insane to demand BK call for an FBI investigation into himself, especially since all corroborating evidence already supports him .
2) There's no federal crime. The FBI would not do an investigation. They would simply take witness testimony, like Congress did.

3) For those interviews to change anything, these witnesses would have to admit their sworn testimony to Congress was false (thus they committed a crime)

That would be fully within Judge's rights. Even if he got a subpoena from Congress, he would be advised to plead the 5th given how Dems have already treated him, a witness, like a criminal.
In other words, such a report would likely lead to no actual new information related to the actual allegation.
So what is the point? Well you've seen it over the last week. The point is for partisans to get more ammo for a character attack on Kavanaugh.

Same people calling for it have spent the last week spreading baseless allegations, attacking him for issues that have 0 to do with the allegation such as HS drinking and yearbook posts (an irresponsible and deplorable tactic that would be widely condemned if aimed at Ford).
The whole point is to find other character attacks and contradictions about Kavnaugh they can use to continue these attacks.

And I would take it more seriously if Dems and their media allies haven't spent the last 2 weeks treating BK as if he is guilty and using character attacks as if they are evidence of it while ignoring the evidence related to the actual allegation.
Summary: Such an investigation can't exonerate BK unless Ford simply admits she is lying. It's unlikely to provide any new info against him related to the allegation. Thus it is only useful as a political delay and smear tool.
P.s. One more important point. The other main goal here would be to delay. As we saw a few nights ago, this would inevitably lead to media being flooded with baseless allegations they have proven they would go along with and thus more calls for delays.
