The intellectual and moral dishonesty of those who are now shifting the goalpost from "Kavanaugh is a sexual predator" to "Kavanaugh's anger at being accused of being a sexual predator shows that he does not have the right temperament" is a stain on human dignity. Using that
logic, moving forward, academia should institute new "temperament" tests as part of the hiring process of professors. International media will receive a press release that the applicant is a serial pedophile who has gang raped children. If the applicant comes to the campus
interview filled with indignant anger at being falsely accused of being a serial pedophile, we'll move to reject his/her candidacy on the ground that his/her emotional lability proves that he/she does not have the temperament to be a professor. This "serial pedophile" test
should become the new standard for all job interviews.
