Bret Kavanaugh is not the key to a Supreme Court becoming laughably, predictably partisan and ideological, Susan Collins' naive, at best, assertions notwithstanding. It is CJ John Roberts who holds the key. And there is very, very little in his actions so far to be optimistic.
I fully expect Roberts to lead 5-4 decisions promoting more voter suppression, more role for big, dark money in politics, more ways to screw workers and benefit corporations, more decisions chipping away a woman's right to choose. He has shown precious little judicial restraint
