Problem w #SusanCollins's evidentiary standard for sex assault claims - in vast majority of cases, only two are present. In many older cases, there isn't contemporaneous corroborating testimony, just friends, family, therapists who can attest as to when vic first disclosed. 1/

Susan Collins is crap, but that’s beside the point. She likes her job. If she votes yes, she will lose her seat in four years. Voters in Maine will never forget that she overturned Roe v Wade, and the whole nation will fund her opponent. Your job is to make her understand this.
Don’t waste your time trying to convince her to do the “right thing.” She’s not focused on that. She only cares about losing her career over this. It’s all the weaklings in the middle ever care about. Politely but firmly explain to her how her career lies or dies with this vote.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.
A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many.
