The NO side in referendum is making outrageous claims about representation, running ads that #ProRep will mean “time to say farewell to your local MLA” and “Pro Rep moves the balance of power in BC to Vancouver alone”. This is blatantly untrue, as I explain in this thread #bcpoli
These claims are a wilful misrepresentation of the 3 reform options on offer. Under all 3 pro pep models on the referendum ballot, EVERY MLA will remain accountable to either a local riding or a particular region of BC. Each system is structured to ensure this is so.
Moreover, each system on offer is designed to ensure that no region of the province will have fewer MLAs than it currently has. But it’s even better than that...

This week the over-the-top fear-mongering of the NO side in the electoral reform referendum stepped over the line, hopefully doing some major damage to their credibility. Here’s a thread debunking the oft-repeated claim that #ProRep will enable far-right extremists #pr4bc #bcpoli
Under FPTP (the system we use), we have seen far-right parties not just win seats, but outright win gvt. Witness Trump (who lost popular vote 2 Clinton, and has Alt-Right elements in his White House) or BJP in India (an extreme Hindu nationalist party that won gvt w/ 31% of vote)
Or witness recent CND examples such as Doug Ford (who won w/ 40% of vote), and most recently Legault’s CAQ in Quebec (won gvt w/ 38% of vote, campaigning on anti-immigrant platform). Both new premiers express their willingness 2 invoke notwithstanding clause to override courts.

Politico just ran a very telling article on our beloved Hillary Clinton... in short summary: “Just go away please... k, thx... signed, TheDemocrats”
One of the main reasons they wish she would disappear: She can’t stop relitigating her husbands affairs and her own political losses.

Saying things such as “No, it wasn’t an abuse of power with (Bill) because Monica Lewinski was an adult” isn’t helping...
It’s also not helping that Bill & Hill have slated a 13-City Arena Tour that is set to give the Clintons over $100 Million in pocket money.

Who pays to go to such events, anyway?

1-I need to look into what triggers shills to come to my account and why. Because when they do, they all seem to concentrate in the same posts and have (allgegdly) no connection to each other.
What's more, #memes seem to trigger them and not posts per se.

1/ I think everyone would prefer that the day-to-day political discourse in this country not descend into hostility and that people could speak rationally to one another about their differences. A few problems though...
2/ First off, these "differences" are not boiler-plate types, like disagreeing over tax policy or trade or the military budget or any number of other things. The differences now are quite literally about whether you support splitting families and denying them due process...
3/ They're about whether sending kids 1000s of miles from parents w/no clear plan 2 reunite them is 2b considered OK. Whether it's OK 2 say that some among the Nazis in C'ville were 'fine people.' or 2 call black/brown nations "shitholes" while calling 4 more Norwegians...
