Genuine question. Why is the Telegraph treated as a respectable news organisation, whose journalists are held in high esteem, well-connected, invited to all the press conferences, to gatherings and parties of the great and the good - but, say, The Canary is beyond the pale?
By the way, this tweet isn’t an endorsement of The Canary. The question is why The Telegraph is treated as respectable - a paper which twists news for partisan purposes, peddles lies, has published front page anti-Semitism and Boris Johnson’s Islamophobia - while The Canary isn’t
There are those responding saying: well I have equal contempt for The Telegraph and The Canary! That doesn’t answer the question as to why one is respectable and mainstream and one isn’t. There is no valid defence of this which isn’t utterly disingenuous.
