Here is an interesting theory. Bear with me. How do I know that Khashoggi was planned as a rendition and not an assassination? Or worse that what turned out to be a murder was going to be a ruse to drug Khashoggi and use a medevac to fly him to Egypt as a cover? My experience.

Sept. 28 - Khashoggi applies for paperwork at Saudi consulate in Istanbul. He is told to return on the afternoon of Oct 2
Oct 1 - 11:40 PM HZ-SK2 departs Riyadh to IST lands early AM (3:13am) This has the rendition team on board. They make their way to the Saudi consulate in AM.

Oct 2 -1:14pm Khashoggi walks into Saudi Consulate at the same time that second Saudi jet HZ-SK1 takes off from Riyadh. This is the rendition plane that will take Khashoggi to Egypt for torture and interrogation.
Around 2pm Something goes terribly wrong inside the Consul’s office

Khashoggi is murdered and chopped up for disposal by one of the Saudi team
3:14pm Fiancé calls Turkish police.
Salman now has a problem. They murdered Khashoggi in the Saudi Consulate. The Turks are wise.
4pm vehicles flee Saudi embassy with staff and presumably Khashoggi parts

90 mins after fleeing consulate. HZ-SK1 lands IST at 5:15pm but leaves 90 mins later at 6:40pm. This was the pickup plane. Destination is still Cairo then lands at 7:17 PM This was the jet that was supposed to take Khashoggi to Egypt....but alive.

Second plane that brought the rendition team, HZ-SK2 takes of 7:54pm around 40 mins after HZ-SK1 has left for Dubai. Landing in the UAE protects the team from arrest or extradition. Salman has a PR disaster on his hands. Turkey an ally of Qatar and Brotherhood is laughing.
