@Styx666Official 4) What he recommends is the modernization of the Post Office into a kind of government tech giant. Provide basic email and social network capabilities, a free public alternative. Private enterprises will no doubt run smoother and look prettier
@Styx666Official 5) BUT, and this is important, as the email and social network would be government-run, it would be bound by first amendment principles, unlike the blatant and self-fellating censorship that tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Twitter are engaging in.
@Styx666Official 6) Now, I’m a libertarian at heart, but I focus on the constitution and the traditions therein. I appreciate the need for certain government institutions to exist to preserve our freedoms, ie the military and the judiciary branch.
@Styx666Official 7) A government-run social media and email system to ensure everyone has access to those methods of communication without their rights to privacy, free speech, and most importantly FREE ASSOCIATION being abridged is one such institution I appreciate the need for. (Typo)
@Styx666Official 8) Its not even outside of the realm of possibility for the Post Office’s potential evolution to include public options for website hosting and payment processing, in order to make sure a group cannot be completely deplatformed and forced off the internet.
@Styx666Official 9) Again, I would recommend looking into this candidate and some of what he’s proposed. At the very least to make you think.
