One’s being in a state of bliss does not mean that one will not be visited by suffering now.
Suffering will of course visit you, but now you will not interpret it in a way that makes it really suffering.
Bliss does not mean only happiness will visit you now.
No, bliss only means that now you will not interpret happiness in a way that makes you cling to it and desire it more and more.

Now things are as they are; what is, is.
Pain and pleasure, happiness and sorrow, are like clouds moving in the sky but the sky remains untouched, the same. And that which remains the same, untrammeled and unchanging, is your consciousness.

#Surrender doesn’t depend on the object, it is a quality that you bring into your #being. To whom you surrender is irrelevant.

Any object will do. You can surrender to a tree, you can surrender to a river, you can surrender to anything, your wife, your husband, your guru.
Even through stones, people have attained because it is not a question at all to what you #surrender.

You surrender, and that brings the whole thing, that opens the door. Surrendering, the effort to surrender brings an opening to you.
If you are open to stone, you become open to the whole existence, because it is only a question of opening. How can you be open to a stone, and not open to a tree?

If your mind is #angry, bring #compassion in, think about compassion; and, immediately, the energy changes. Because they are the same; the opposite is the same energy.

Once you bring it in, it absorbs. #Anger is there: contemplate on compassion
The #opposite is the pole. When you feel #hateful, think of #love. When you feel #desire, think of #desirelessness and the silence that comes in it. Whatsoever the case, bring the opposite in and watch what happens within you.

Occasionally, I think back to the literature they had us read in middle and high school, and am astonished how relatively edgy and transgressive it was (corollary: schools wouldn't put this stuff on reading lists now).
Mind you, I went to a (slightly) hoity-toity Jesuit all-boys school populated by kids from deeply conservative, Republican Cuban exile families. My graduating class had one kid whose parents had divorced, and discussing the matter was somewhat taboo.
(I was about to describe one of the edgy short stories, involving a masterful description of a sublime moment of extreme dramatic and erotic tension--but where nothing really happens--but I've decided it's too edgy for Twitter. Adults now can't handle what 16-yo's used to.)

Hahaha wow I fucking suck. The floppy with the Koala Painter software is fucked up, it was bent during storage and wouldn't operate in the drive. I thought "Oh this is already online, I don't need to worry about protecting the disk" and did surgery on it
Disk is now giving constant read errors and the software is not online. I might have destroyed one of the only copies. Actual Fuck.
HOLY SHIT

I retried like 40 times and *took the disk out of the jacket and wiped it down with iso* in desperation, then got another twenty read errors AND THEN IT SUCCEEDED

..aaaand it's genuinely Pcjr only, so it only runs under DOSbox :p :p
