I don't know how I missed the release of the Nikolas Cruz interview transcript in August - fits perfectly with my opinion that he looked like he had been abandoned...

The entire thing reads like a brilliant play, and you should read it... the tension between angels and demons and good and bad is almost a brilliantly written script... but partway through, the strain is too great, and this happens.

And a few pages later, he's worried about his brother.

His brother's physical well-being.

And he stops using social media a few days before the shooting because 'people' told him to...

Now, this is where it starts getting interesting. Remember this story about the video that an account named "Nikolas Cruz" posted on?

He doesn't seem to be fabricating when he denies being involved in posting that - especially as it happened before his mother's death, when he indicated his 'demon' started seriously influencing him.

Now - to be totally clear - that post on youtube, in combination with calls from across the country - THAT was what made me realize there was likely more to this shooting than meets the eye.

But it's kind of interesting that his phone just kind of vanished before he was arrested... and seemingly after the shooting, because this exchange is heavily redacted, but seems to be talking about the music he was listening to during the shooting.

So... soundcloud is kinda like youtube, but for music. AFAIK, it requires a smartphone or other mobile device to be in hand... [TBC...]

But aside from listening to an innocuous-sounding song named "Salad days" that was about a girl and dying (read the rest to find the relevance), it appears he predominantly listened to Russian and German Bass / Industrial. On a crowdsourced site.

Now, to be totally clear: most people identify Panzermensch as being a song by And One, you can find it on Youtube.

But that's pretty vanilla German EBM, not really 'evil.'

OTOH - there's a Panzermensch on Soundcloud - a Siberian industrial metal band that sings in German.

And they only have a few songs live now, but one, you may notice, is called Hakenkreuz, and has relevant graphic work to go with it.

And the gravity of what I'm trying to say here is stressing me out a little bit, so I'm gonna have to pick up again later.

If @ToestringRd or @LincolnsBible want to pick up on the paths to radicalization through these 'demons,' though, please feel free.

But if I were @SoundCloud, I'd make sure to not drop any logging from these genres, 'cause somebody might come knocking to see who else was interacting with the audio he was listening to...
