@steveclark414 I find the rabbi/"rabbi" thing distasteful. I am not offended per se, but it's definitely at least a faux paux, if not a cynical insensitive way to push an agenda.
There are reports that the Jewish GOP candidate is the one who invited him which is even weirder.
@steveclark414 Like, fine, there are messianic Jews who fully consider themselves Jewish. And there are (a few) Jews who consider messianic jews/JfJ as Jewish, but having him pray to Jesus, and in the "name of Jesus" really is just too much.

Now imagine I was much less tolerant.
@steveclark414 The whole praying for the GOP/candidates is just plain weird. If that was the first thing he did and only later was brought back to say something about the murdered it's just doubly weird.

Also not saying the prayer for the deceased, which all Jewish denominations say is odd.
@steveclark414 Tl:Dr - insensitive, weird, cynical, feels disingenuous. Some might not care or brush it off, but many others will be offended.

A Jewish perspective:

@steveclark414 And actually watching the prayer for those killed its even more bizarre. Before he had a talit (prayer shawl) on, though it was draped on like a blanket - not the way any Jews wear it. No kipa, which even reform rabbis tend to wear during religious services.
@steveclark414 He says two words in Hebrew, "avinu malkenu", usually said while confessing to sins during the day of atonement, and not "El maleh rachamim" which is what is said when prayer over the dead. Signing it all up with "in Jesus's name amen" really feels wrong.
@steveclark414 Like, how is that at all supposedly representing the Jewish communities?

I guess I'll stop this rant.
