"You know, Mike, is so lucky. His gf cooks for him every night. They must have a strong relationship."
Change the subject. Move on.
Now she's not so confrontational. In fact, she's probably a little anxious...
A week later she has an idea. She wants to cook tonight.
No "selling." You planted the idea and brain took care of the rest.
So how can you use this for your Shopify store?
Go a step further. Find a scientific study that validates common beliefs that aren't consciously thought of alot
For example, just found this study on the US National Library of Medicine:
People with acne are perceived as more shy & insecure
Don't sell the benefit (clear skin). You want to sell the benefits of the benefit
This can take a 1% conversion rate to 4%. That's 4 times more profit for you
