1/3 Was trying to remember when the ES&S hack was - when @VotingVillageDC reminded me last night. It was Aug 2017 - In the massive 1.8 mill #voter ES&S #data breach part of the download was...encrypted versions of passwords for ES&S employee accounts. usatoday.com/story/tech/201…
2/3 @UpGuard is the company who found the breach. “The worse-case scenario is that they could be completely infiltrated right now,” said Upguard's director of strategy Jon Hendren.

Thread 1. @BrianLehrer I am shocked to hear @JohnKerry admit that they suspected the algorithm of the voting machines in Ohio was manipulated in 2004 & yet they did not challenge the results. AND THEY SAID NOTHING.
2. Those of us who researched the 2004 Ohio election for years & concluded that the results were in all likelihood not accurate - needed someone of @JohnKerry's stature to speak out - yet he did not until now. He allowed ppl to call it a #conspiracytheory & said nothing.

The annual Star Citizen whale milking convention is upon us!

The pre-show starts in +15 mins.

It was off to a good start when they removed some sessions from the schedule.

At the last minute.
The pre-show starts at 1PM, but "fans" were showing up +3 hrs ahead and lining up outside waiting to get in.

Now they let them in, and they're still in line waiting for the doors to open.

But this is normal though, because Star Citizen fans are used to waiting for things - consistently.

UCC had opportunity to comment on the #Data.Protection & Privacy Bill. The enactment of this law is long overdue. A comprehensive law on the collection & processing personal information gives effect to the right to Privacy envisaged under Article 27(2) of the Constitution
UCC welcome the protections offered by the Bill in terms of export of data, breach notification requirements, data subjects access rights, automated decision making, compensation and the right to be forgotten and provision for financial and penal sanctions for breach of the law.
Distinction between Data collectors & data controllers.
The Bill should however clarify & distinguish Data Collectors, from Data Processors & Data Controllers. Clause 2 is inconsistent with international good practice which provides for two broad categories of Data Controllers

I'm currently writing something that involves a fair quantity of barbarians, and so last night I decided to watch the original Conan with a notebook at hand as part of my research. I'd not actually seen it before, and let me tell you: Conan is a fucking *weird* movie.
So let's get this on the table first of all: Conan is riven through with indefensible sexual politics, which I won't celebrate. It was bloody uncomfortable viewing. But the intensely unpleasant moral landscape they contribute to is part of what makes Conan so fascinatingly odd.
To explain what I found so weird about Conan, I'm gonna take a big swerve and talk about Thylacines for a minute (stick with me). So here's a Thylacine. It was an Australian apex predator also called a marsupial wolf, and it's in black and white because they all died ages ago.
