Karen was very smart and wily, and resisted being trapped. I noticed she was limping badly, adding to the urgency. On advice from a rescuer friend, I disguised the trap with some landscaping. #StrayStrong #LeaveACan #LeaveTheCanTakeTheStray 4/10
After a few nervous days, I trapped Karen! But I did not have a TNR appt set because I didn’t want to keep setting & canceling. I asked my friend if she knew anyone else doing TNR. She didn’t but she agreed to take Karen! #StrayStrong #LeaveACan #LeaveTheCanTakeTheStray 5/10
She got Karen to the vet the next day to check if pregnant and evaluate her left front leg. The vet discovered Karen had been SHOT in the shoulder! 😱Wound was a few months old. Leg is atrophied and useless. 😭 #StrayStrong #LeaveACan #LeaveTheCanTakeTheStray 6/10
Karen is now safe and happy😀, learning to be indoorsy in her forever home with my friend, who will care for her, have her spayed once determined if she is pregnant, and have the leg amputated if that later proves necessary. #StrayStrong #LeaveACan #LeaveTheCanTakeTheStray 7/10
