This one is going to take more digging, but we will get there in the end - "Standup4brexit". The twitter account started in July 2018 but has 10.8K Followers. Suspicious? We think so.
/ By comparison, we have been on Twitter since 2015 and only have 4743 followers. Even if we assume that we are just terrible at twitter, how do you explain the difference? We have been mentioned by MPs too. Something Fishy here.
/ Have a look at the site - slick graphics, smooth web design. No way this is the product of just one or two interested members of the public. standup4brexit.com
/ Read this Sky News report and tell us there isn't something weird going on here: "Single mum launched anti-Chequers campaign from living room"
/ No obvious contact address on their site but there is an address on their Privacy Policy page standup4brexit.com/privacy-policy…
/ Google search indicates that this address is basically a virtual office address. Dead End. But isn't all this a red flag? why aren't the contact details obvious, and directly linked to Rebecca Ryan?
/ does it seem remotely plausible that she set up the campaign alone "in a morning"?
/ Ooohh now it falls into place. She started a job on 25/02/2018 with a company called Blue Sky Digital as Campaign Director. July 2018, "Stand up 4 Brexit" created.
/ What does this company do?
/ According to their website: blueskyconsultancy.digital/sectors-politi…
/ They offer a variety of services:
/ So this narrows down the possibilities. Option one - This company created Standup4brexit as a showcase of their skills (maybe as a pitch to take over the Tory's Digital work)
/ Option two - Rebecca Ryan just set it up as a bit of a laugh in her spare time, whilst juggling childcare and work and being a conservative council candidate. Not very plausible.
/ The final option (3) is that probably a ERG MP who knew Rebecca Ryan chatted to her about the lack of a 'Hard Brexit' online game. RR then probably offered her services, suggesting it would look better if it was seen as grassroots not coordinated.
/ In any case, its likely all Quid Pro Quo. Blue Sky is probably making money out of it, and establishing a wide array of political contacts. The Hard Brexiteers get a slick ad campaign that makes the lunacy of hard Brexit seem like patriotism. /End
