I deeply apologize to readers for accidentally retweeting a tweet that included obscenely offensive content that I somehow missed when I read it. I've been retweeting people reading PROOF OF COLLUSION and did not see a call for violence in a tweet. This feed is *100% nonviolent*.
2/ I have never and would never knowingly spread any content promoting violence of any kind. Anyone who has read this feed since late '16 has seen me denounce violence and violent rhetoric over and over and over again. I will continue doing so and regret deeply my oversight here.
3/ The response to PROOF OF COLLUSION has been absolutely overwhelming, with scores of people daily sending me pictures and notes regarding their reading of the book. I've been trying to honor those readers by retweeting their stories. I'll keep doing so, but with much more care.

(THREAD) A couple days ago, MSNBC's @maddow presented compelling preliminary evidence that Trump gets intelligence and propaganda from Kremlin sources. Tonight I'll add to her report in a significant way by discussing the meeting pictured below. I hope you'll read on and retweet.
1/ VANITY FAIR has credited this feed with being the first to recognize the significance of the March 31, 2016 meeting Trump convened—at the Trump International Hotel DC—of his "National Security Advisory Committee." I can tell you @NatashaBertrand deserves a lot of credit, too.
2/ It was a single line from an article (below) Bertrand published on March 3, 2017 that caused me to spend hundreds of tweets dissecting all aspects of a meeting media had previously thought unimportant.

Trump juxtaposing the shutdown and impeachment is no accident. True or not, it is likely he thinks that the longer the government isn't functioning properly, the longer it takes Democrat-led House committees to do the Trump-Russia investigative work the Republicans refused to do.
2/ Make no mistake: Trump's ambition is to forestall the impeachment question just long enough to have the Republican and Democratic primary processes start in earnest. At that point, he and his lawyers will say that *voters* should be allowed to decide Trump's fate—not Congress.
3/ Trump will only have to convince 34 Senate Republicans to vote against his conviction, so developing a rhetorical argument that says impeachment must not interfere with the right of voters to choose their leaders is incredibly important for Trump. And this argument could work.

I haven't written on the shutdown because in the years I spent negotiating on a daily basis as a defense lawyer, one thing I learned was you can't analyze a negotiation strategy effectively if your negotiating partner is irrational. Trump's shutdown can't be competently analyzed.
2/ In other words, the only analysis of the shutdown worth a damn is an analysis that says Trump's mental and emotional pathologies are dangerous and mean the shutdown could last a few more hours or many months. That's been my perspective from the moment the government shut down.
3/ Trump's shutdown will therefore end whenever his dangerous mental and emotional pathologies permit it to—an unknowable in the equation—or Democrats decide to cave to Trump's instability, which would be just as dangerous a precedent as that instability is in the first instance.

The replace-libraries-with-Amazon thing is such a fascinating microcosm of the wretchedness of our current take culture.
First some hapless, unheard-of practitioner of the dismal science has, as is his discipline's wont, a very rational and logical epiphany about the market inefficiency of an institution whose very purpose is to provide a service outside the market.
In times of yore the take would have been read by a few other academics, or perhaps raised some eyebrows in a regional paper, and in either case been promptly forgotten.
