When large, slowly reproducing animals. Go through bottlenecks or go extinct, smaller faster reproducing animals increase in number to fill those niches. WHICH MEANS A UNIVERSE OF RATS, THANKS THANOS.
Also, the reduction in genetic diversity disproportionately will effect large megafauna, if the cull was simply 50% of all members of a species. Again, the rewinding will be to the detriment of large animals and the benefit of medium sized and small animals.

159 years ago today, On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin was published for the first time. It is, to my mind, the most revolutionary, and the most important book ever written.
After an epic journey on the Beagle, years of meticulous thought and experimentation, and prompted by Alfred Wallace coming to roughly the same idea, Darwin compiled his thoughts on the radiation of species in this book.
And the process by which the diversification of life on Earth had occurred over generational and geological time.

Clarification:The XT Enh13-/- females here went into full development and were born and are still alive. They are complete females, however they are unable to reproduce, they are infertile. The same applies human patients that are born as XY females — they are also all infertile
This is the also case of all XY females that were ever formed using mutations in different genes (SRY for example, or Enh13 like it has been shown here). They have ovaries, genitalia, but they are unable to produce normal oocytes.
