I've been watching prison shows and it's interesting how people crave a sense of self-importance.

Even murderers pride themselves as being above the child molesters.
I've known for some time everybody loves the feeling of being admired and listened to.

I didn't realize what they would do to get it.

They'll do nearly anything.

Especially deceive themselves.
Losers will talk to you with a sense of grandiosity.

A conversation will turn into an opportunity for them to give advice.

Even if they just got out of prison a day ago.

"I've come far, I've changed. Marvel at my progress. I've ascended" the pig rolling in shit says.

Bret Weinstein once said every civilization comes to a point where it runs into finite resources.

In that world, the worst in people is brought out and winner-take-all strategies unfold.

Bret says we can look at ancient civilizations as examples for dealing with scarcity.
He points out that the Mayans built pyramids and were an unusually old civilization.

As soon as one was finished, they’d begin work on another layer.

The work never stopped.

In this way, the Mayans funded large-scale, non-zero sum games that fed people and gave them meaning.
Bret says humanity needs a new kind of fourth frontier, to avoid the pathological biological tendencies that activate in times of scarcity.

To give people a sense of abundance.

And I wonder, whether video games will become our Mayan pyramid.

They are limitless digital domains.

For the most part, I don’t understand Nassim Taleb’s arguments against IQ.

All I know is that nobody has actually addressed the points he’s made.
I wonder how many years and classes and books it would take before I could develop an intuition for the statistics and probability he knows.

5 years? 6 years of intense study?
More importantly, I don’t suppose it would be interesting to me, unless it has some utility in my life.

I don’t find puzzles interesting unless they have a purpose.

Watching Tessa Thompson have to apologize to Lena Dunham is the last straw for me. I am going to tell you all something I have kept in and tried to talk myself out of sharing. But i am done allowing white women to intimidate woc who speak up.
After publicly speaking about the situation with Andy Signore and dealing with Defy's HR, I had multiple women write me about another abuser in our industry. Some sent me physical evidence of assault and confirmation of their discussions with HR.
After talking with the women, I did what I felt was the right thing, what I felt was my responsibility as a host and guest at numerous channels, I told the heads and bookers of these channels not to bring this abuser on anymore.
