In all the celebration of Labor’s “progressive” credentials, let’s not forget they pushed a good man to the brink of suicide over some satirical tweets they fed to the Herald Sun in an attempt to weaponise the Me Too movement for political gain.
The Greens undoubtedly have cultural issues to sort out but Paul McMillan was someone who was actively calling them out. To see him destroyed like this is the worst kind of politics.
And in doing so they bombarded the electorate with unauthorised ads accusing the state’s first ever Aboriginal woman to be elected to Parliament - a survivor of domestic violence - of being an apologist for rape culture. Whatever it takes though, hey.
