Hey real talk:

The memes have been trash for like 6 months.

What’s going on?

“Don’t say it” = trash.

“Ladies, if he’s...” = trash.

For context, all of these (as well as the American Chopper one) were from March this year
Moth meme was pretty good sometimes
this isn't even funny in some sort of "it's funny because it's not funny" way, this is like teenagers taking cues from stale whitebread fortune 500 CEOs, rapping horribly about market penetration and shareholder value
it's like the simulation is being run on 20% power or something

One thing I've noticed about a lot of digital nomads/digital expats I've met (not all) is that they don't appear to be particularly interested in the history or culture of the countries they live in.

This is curious to me.
The primary goals seem to be:

• Lower cost of living
• Sexual arbitrage

But riding those things more than a few months turns to ash in your mouth if you're not really interested the country itself.

Perhaps why they move around so much.
Not to say one reason for living abroad is more "legitimate" than another.

If your goal is poppin' bottles and bangin' broads, do it!

I'm no Judge Judy (if you couldn't already tell)

But even a cursory interest in the country you're staying in will produce a richer experience

Hey, preschool and public school educators: Just a reminder that not every kid celebrates Christmas, and you have a lot of choices about how you run your classroom in the next month that can keep them from feeling like crap. 1/x
My biggest preference as a parent of a non-Christian would be NOT TO DO CHRISTMAS IN CLASS. Why? Whyyyy do you need to? The kids are getting plenty from family and the surrounding culture. Talk snowmen, snow, hot chocolate if you want to be seasonal. Why bring in holy days?
If you MUST do Christmas something or other, keep it proportional. You really, truly don't need to decorate your classroom or give away candy canes. (Again, your classroom can have snowflakes or whatever, why the reindeer.)

Hey, real talk fellow game writers:
If you're working in text, recognizing screenshotable moments as being as much of a priority as character growth or plot revelation is so important, particularly in the landscape we currently occupy.

Let me explain what I mean by that:
1/
A screenshotable moment is a standalone piece of text that's particularly evocative, funny, or horrifying - the key factors being that the line and/or choice has easily parsed context, and is compelling to share.

Just to use a recent example, Yakuza 0 is full of these.
2/
I am all for simply telling a story as well as you can, but what a screenshotable moment does is inherently *present* that story in a compelling, visual way that text-based games don't usually accommodate.

It's like a billboard ad for your game, within your own game!

pretty sure the internet is just a giant language compression algorithm at this point
when I was a teenager and fancied myself A Writer I started making a thing of using proper grammar/capitalization/etc in like, AIM chat and everything
ofc I dropped that after awhile, it's pretentious and unnecessary, now I write emails more on less like how I tweet
