To start this weeks #FluorideFriday session, we talk bout overfeeds, accidental poisoning and #fluoridation.
The #StannousFoilHat wearing types do not like to talk about this issue. Never have, either. This from the infamous 1951 meeting.

"The barrel wouldn't fall through."
However, overfeeds are a common issue, along with underfeeds. This Spring it happened again.

Have no fear, though, it is only a '*cosmetic*' dental problem.

Axel Hugo Theodor Theorell born #OTD in 1903.
Theorell, who dedicated his entire career to enzyme research, received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1955 for discovering the oxidation enzyme and its effects.
His contribution also consisted of the theory of the toxic effects of sodium fluoride on the cofactors of crucial human enzymes.

Let’s talk about #mouthhygiene and the lies the #dental industry believes in and preaches… 🧵

First lie (picture below)…#fluoride
When you brush your teeth, tongue and gums with #fluoridated #toothpaste, #fluoride is absorbed into the soft tissues of your mouth. You absorb fluoride through your gums into the inner dentin of your teeth, weakening the dentin and making it chalky from the inside out.
To top it all off, whatever fluoride in toothpaste which adheres to our teeth after we “rinse out” is swallowed sooner or later. Dental gels and varnishes also wash off and are swallowed…
All forms of fluoride harm the body and should be avoided.

Big moment from our #fluoridelawsuit. World-renowned environmental epidemiologist Dr. Philip Grandjean testified at trial that he was bullied by colleagues and higher ups at his university, Harvard, to retract his 2012 conclusions of #neurotoxicity from #fluoride exposure. Image
2 “Well if you want the whole story, I was asked to meet with a professor from Harvard’s Dental School. He came to my office and essentially threatened me. He said I was endangering public health, and he demanded that I issue a statement similar to what you’re talking about now.”
3 “When I said that I would think it over, he went to the Dean’s of the medical school, the dental school, and the school of public health -that is my boss - without telling me, and the Dean’s did not know what was going on. They were just asked to sign a statement saying…”

June is #OralHealthMonth.
Oral health's important but don't push #fluoridation.
It saves maybe 1 dental cavity after many years adding extra #fluoride to drinking water.
The evidence of harm from this practice is now overwhelming.
Post a study-I'll start
#IsSaving1CavityWorth.
Can #fluoridation be fatal?
It sure can be.
A study recently published showed increased fluoride in drinking water increased hip fractures in post-menopausal older women.

Can #fluoridation be fatal?
Yup. Here's another example. A fluoridation overfeed accident killed a truck driver in Ontario Canada involved in a pile up on the highway when he was doused in fluoridation chemical.

Lies people tell about #Water
Part: 1

"We can find charlatans peddling #snakeoil in a wide variety of spheres, but there are quite a lot of lies that are told specifically about water. It's such a ubiquitous substance, everywhere around us, and inside of us,
and since we need it to survive,it's fertile grounds for #pseudoscience. What kinds of lies do people tell about water? There are many colorful examples we will cover, but this first part will focus on the main #conspiracy surrounding water & that is the fluoridation of tap water.
From government mind control to neurotoxic effects, there is no shortage of #misinformation associated with this incredible achievement of modern society, so let's run through the most common talking points and see what they're all about, shall we?

How MUCH more acid resistant? Not much. A smidgen. Certainly, from the results of the experiment, not enough.
Suppose, though, if adding #fluorine to the enamel made the enamel completely impervious to cariogenic acid attack. 100% totally makes enamel insoluble. That would be great, if it weren't for the one little item overlooked by proponents of using #fluorine to prevent tooth decay.
