While Jordan Peterson hardly seems to carry the kind of intellectual weight that would make defining oneself in terms of him seem at all natural, let's not pretend that there wasn't more than a faint hint of bullying in the actions of his opposition.

@DarkMatter2525 If you're going to take the position that one shouldn't be free that a boy doesn't become a girl just by putting on a dress and feeling pretty, then your entire position as a skeptic falls apart.

@DarkMatter2525 The entire misgendering "controversy" is about whether or not people should be free to acknowledge objective reality, when said reality hurts somebody's feelings.

@DarkMatter2525 The "pro-Trans" side's position (and it's not an unprecented one), in effect, is that if reality hurts somebody's feelings, that isn't really reality. That we dream our own truths.

@DarkMatter2525 Accept that as part of your philosophy, and how are you going to oppose the fundamentalists and maintain any sort of logical consistency?

They feel strongly about what they believe, too.

@DarkMatter2525 But the rest of us can't indulge such strong, reality-denying emotions without rationality breaking down, altogether. At some point, people have to be told that their issues are their problems.

@DarkMatter2525 I think that, as an atheist, you feel isolated in a predominately Christian society, you'd like a network of support, and that when you look at the "progressive" Far Left, that you see allies. Because certainly, the Far Right would seem to be your enemy.
