The "muh we are all doomed" crowd has a new talking point. Trump is only going to get 20% of the wall funding....OMG it's terrible...The sky is falling...meanwhile back in realville there is this thing called a Continuing resolution. You see a CR keeps the funding at the previous
Year's level when the two Houses of Congress are unable to agree on new spending. So what will happen is the same thing that has happened since 2016. Whatever Wall funding that Trump gets this year will be there next year and the next and the next and the next and the next until
Congress votes to cut or increase it. So far that has gotten Trump $4.8 billion since the election or 20%. If he gets 20% this year he will triple the current funding for the wall bringing the total to $10 billion.
And by 2020 he will have $15 billion. The real concern is the language used to direct how that money is to be spent not how much there is.
Regardless of the what happens and regardless of if you call it a 30ft fence or a 30 ft wall. The border thanks to that $4.8 billion is more secure now than 2 years ago and will be even more secure 2 years from now.
