1) There is a coordinated campaign by UCP supporters to represent the current & new curriculum in Alberta K-12 schools as indoctrinating children to accept socialist beliefs and values. This is projection and propaganda to convince parents into voting for UCP.

2) It is clearly projection, bc indoctrination of children to adopt nationalist, far right libertarian, & far right Christian values & norms are exactly the plan laid out by UCP in their Education platform.

This is seriously their plan. It’s not hyperbole. Analysis follows.

3) The surreptitious & covert aim of UCP is revealed here in this one policy platform statement. I’ve colour coded it to separate the three main goals of their education agenda.

4) First the yellow highlight, Nationalism. The aim is to focus inward. UCP would restrict the study of geography to Alberta & Canada, & focus on European Christian immigrants & history. Economic impact in Alberta of farming & resource development.

5) Blue highlight. Development of a work ethic. That’s “libertarian” for pay your own way. They would privatize everything. So you’ll need to work extra hard to pay for education, healthcare, & save $, there will no longer be social safety net. They believe the poor are lazy.

6) Red highlight. More than 1 tweet. Debate & critical thinking mean teaching children how to interpret the world through a Christian lens & learning how to convince others to see the world your way.

7) Respect for dissenting views means reject dissenting ideology and religious views, but leave unbelievers to fend for themselves. Ignore them, don’t associate with them, don’t include them, and don’t hire them.

8) Eliminate indoctrination. This one is THE MOST MALEVOLENT. All three base groups (Nationalists, Libertarians, Dominionist Christians) have reworked & developed their rhetoric & ideology to eliminate the positive popular Canadian aspects of cooperation & universality.

9) It’s no longer accepted by these groups that helping the poor, striving for equity & social justice, & caring for one another are positive. They’ve flipped the narrative of these elementary school concepts to be seen as indoctrinating children to socialist/communist ideology.

10) Their intent is to indoctrinate our most vulnerable, children, to adopt their preferred values. Individualism; self reliance; free market; religious freedom to discriminate & exclude; nationalism; privatization; Dominionist.

11) This is a “long game” plan. Within 1 generation, an army of indoctrinated youth, ready to promote & defend these values.

Sound familiar? It should. This is exactly why there are an abundance of young adults supporting UCP and extreme right ideology now in 2018.

12) This is the impact of the privatization of education and the promotion of school choice. Klein implemented it here in Alberta in 1994 with the approval of Charter Schools. Private school choices publicly funded in Alberta has increased exponentially since 1994.

14) Homeschooling is also well established in AB, BC, SK, MB & ON. Over 1/3, roughly 37% of all homeschooled children, reside in Alberta. That is not an accident, it was engineered.

15) Thus, the push by UCP to expand private school choices. They are indoctrinating an ever growing base support in Alberta. And the public is subsidizing their indoctrination efforts. If elected they want to expand the influence of their values and beliefs into public schools

This needs to be understood by every voter.

Private choices should be defunded.

All schooling should meet provincial standards.

If you value your children or grandchildren’s freedom of thought, do NOT vote UCP.
