This Colecovision Ain't Workin
i get no picture. at first the +5 was iffy - it was +5 until I turned the console on, then it'd drop to 1.1. cracked the PSU and replaced the TIP41, now i get +5 while on as well
important note: I do not trust my test apparatus. i have nothing that can natively tune NTSC, but I picked up an NTSC USB capture card today. i have absolutely nothing that can transmit to prove the capture card works.
so i started poking around in the RF modulator and found a signal that looks televisiony in there, and i sat and watched it for 12 seconds and suddenly it clunked over to a different signal, and it's reproducible. Colecos have a 12 second hardwired title screen delay
So I believe the device is generating video but the RF modulator isn't running. This is beyond my skillset to diagnose further. Bleh. :(
There's a composite mod for these that might resurrect it if the RF mod really is dead. Hm. I have it open. I might as well try.
