This dynamic where people are desperate for hope, to the point that they run from one delusion to the next as a way to dissociate from suffering, is why I wrote this piece. We have to collectively face reality, in order to WORK - not hope - to change it.

Put another way: if the establishment is analogous to an abusive spouse, then #Qanon is like the delusion that the partner is a good person, while all evidence points to the contrary. You don't cling to the deluded belief bc it's real, but bc it is the dream you can't give up.
