Ester McVey, David Davis and Jeremy Corbyn have all explicitly talked recently about a “transition” or “implementation” period after a no-deal Brexit.

For their sake, and in case anyone is still confused, let’s clear this up once and for all:
No-deal Brexit is called a cliff edge, not because it’s catchy dramatic Project Fear language, but because it represents an instant transition from being in the EU to being outside in the cold.

Easy way to think of it is to imagine the UK’s head on a block. On Brexit Day, the
executioner swings the axe. There’s no transition period where we kinda-sorta still have our head. No, one moment it’s gracing our shoulders, and the very next it’s in the gutter waiting to feed the crows.

Now imagine that head’s the economy, and you’ve got the full picture.
