Question for you lawyer people: What powers does Trump have to do this? As far as I know, his only power is that he can pardon her. It's inconceivable that prosecutors/courts would allow prosecutions to be political like this.
2/ I mean, consider how prosecutors allow spy swaps, as in those 10 Russian spies a few years ago. As this story describes, the prosecutors where really concerned about serving justice and not politics.

3/ As I understand it, not only can the president not direct the DoJ to drop the case, the DoJ really can't tell the individual prosecutor to drop the case. The department and individual prosecutors are independent precisely to avoid political meddling.
