A friend of mine was working for a Greek company. They were paying tax in Greece for a short while. Do you know what they did? When Greece started to introduce windfall taxes against chunks of the population they panicked that they might be hit with a business ending charge...
So they very quickly moved the business to the UK, when they proceeded to pay tax there. Your financial enslavement of Greece meant that a viable business doing world trade, a net positive in the balance of payments, that company left, and Greece became more mired...
