As I noted, the WSJ reports the inauguration probe spun partly out of the Cohen raise. Michael Avenatti released a report on Cohen's "suspicious transactions," including roughly $500,000 in payments from Vekselberg.

Take the quote: “Impeach the motherfucker.”

It seems to me that a serious journalist should contextualize the operative verb “impeach.” The noun “motherfucker” typically requires little additional context.
For instance, how many people know that the day Rep. Tlaib made that remark, she co-wrote an op-ed with a constitutional attorney laying out the grounds they would cite?

Or that, a day earlier, her colleague Rep. Sherman announced plans to introduce articles of impeachment?

Reminder: The Trumpified-Department of Homeland Security, whose spokesman is seen here echoing White House’s anti-press attack line, has been compiling a database of journalists and “media influencers,” including by “sentiment.” 🔽 biglawbusiness.com/homeland-secur…
This spokesman called that database “standard” and suggested that it’s tin-foil hat territory to question whether they would use it responsibly.
It should be added that the substance of @SpoxDHS’s statement is pure and reprehensible disinformation: The CNN story quotes a TSA official by name without a denial, in a story whose deep sourcing speaks to its clear credibility.
