My friends are cooking up some pretty amazing looking films for 2019. Take a look at all of the awesome genre cinema you have to look forward to next year!

<A LONG THREAD WORTH SCROLLING THROUGH>
GUNS AKIMBO, from New Zealand's @JasonLeiHowden (DEATHGASM), is a violent action film starring Daniel Radcliffe that looks to be equal parts brutal and ridiculous. It also stars MAYHEM's Samara Weaving!
PET SEMATARY, from @starryguys (STARRY EYES) and @StephenKing, looks absolutely stunning. The locations in the trailer are gorgeous, and I'm a big fan of the cast (including Amy Seimetz and @JohnLithgow). In cinemas April 5th.
GIRL WITH NO MOUTH, from BASKIN and HOUSEWIFE's @canevrenol, follows a mouthless little Turkish girl through a post-apocalyptic world. It's bold new territory for the director, and I love the subtle power of the concept.
RIOT GIRLS, the feature debut of Canada's @JovankaVuckovic (XX), is a female-powered thriller set in an alternate-reality 1995, devoid of adults. I've been a huge fan of Jovanka's for years, and really dug star @munrochambers in 2015's TURBO KID.
ELI, from Ireland's @citadelfoy (CITADEL, SINISTER 2), is about a diseased child, cut off from the world and forced to take part in some very shady medical proceedings. Great cast here - including the amazing @lilitaylor and Stranger Things' @SadieSink. On @Netflix in early '19.
MEMORY, from Alexandre O. Philippe (78/52, THE PEOPLE VS GEORGE LUCAS) is an intimate, detailed dissection of the creation and realization of the chestburster scene from Ridley Scott's ALIEN. I am all about this. World Premieres at @sundancefest 2019.
THE GIRL ON THE THIRD FLOOR, the directorial debut of uber-producer @TravisStevens, follows a man (@cmpunk) trying to renovate a creepy old mansion, only to learn it has other plans for him. Stoked to see Travis directing after producing 25+ (!!!) features.
HELLBOY, from Neil Marshall (THE DESCENT, DOG SOLDIERS), reboots the franchise with Stranger Things' @DavidKHarbour as Big Red. Super excited to see what these fellas bring to the story, and loving all the images so far. Totally on-board. In cinemas April 12th.
WELCOME TO JAPAN, from Japan's @ni4yo4 (TOKYO GORE POLICE, HELLDRIVER), is a fiercely political action film about his country's culture, legislature, and food that also promises swords, guns, and his signature ultra-splatter.
BODY AT BRIGHTON ROCK is the feature debut from @rox_anne_b, whose segment in the 2017 anthology XX is next-level great. A women finds herself alone, overnight, in the woods with a corpse... and very bad things happen. Cannot wait for this. @MagnetReleasing is releasing.
THE LONG WALK, from Laos' brilliant @MangoSodium (DEAREST SISTER), has an old hermit discovering the ghost of a road accident victim can transport him back in time fifty years to the moment of his mother's painful death. I need this mix of somber and weird as soon as possible.
DEPRAVED, the long-awaited return to directing from genre auteur Larry Fessenden (@GlassEyePix), has him tackling a modern, NYC-set version of the Frankenstein story and stars @davidscall and @joshualeonard1. Everything Larry directs is cause for attention and excitement.
RABID, a remake of the 1977 Cronenberg classic from fellow Canadians @twisted_twins (AMERICAN MARY, SEE NO EVIL 2) promises extreme gore and nastiness... and I adore star @Vandiekins22. I'm so stoked to see what they've cooked up with this one.
SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK, from Norway's @Filmtroll (TROLL HUNTER, THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE), is produced by @RealGDT and stars @ZoeColletti (whose older brother was in MOHAWK!). I loved the books, and am so excited to see them come to life. In cinemas August 9th!
COME TO DADDY, the feature directorial debut of New Zealand uber-producer @Timpson, stars @elijahwood and is about a man in his thirties, traveling to a remote cabin to reconnect with his estranged father. I don't know what genre it is or who else is in it, but I'm 100% down.
