People who say "Don't impeach because it won't work" blow my mind. The government is shut down by a nuke-bearing sociopath who serves hostile states with a cabal of criminals whose policies include locking up kids in Texas border camps where they die.

How's that working out?
Will the Senate impeach Trump? Not likely. If Congress did impeach Trump, would he leave office? Nope!

Is starting impeachment the right move? YES. It forces hearings, which in turn changes expectations of accountability. It helps gives the public the information they deserve.
Part of the reason some people are reluctant to accept the sheer horrific scope of what the Trump admin does is lack of consequences. They think "If it's that bad -- if he's an asset, they're criminals -- surely someone would have stopped them!"

They didn't. But they must.

This Christmas Eve mega-thread looks at films that showed on New York City TV stations every Dec. 24 from 1947 to 1983. Most, if not all, of these films showed in other years on other days in December during this 36-year period. Not every Christmas chestnut is listed. Here goes:
NY TV debut 12/24/47 at 8 pm on WCBS' "Film Theatre of the Air'' BEYOND (1940) turned up again on this date in 1948, 1949, 1960 and 1967. SCROOGE (1935), on WNBT at 8, made NY TV debut on Christmas Eve 1944, and would reappear in 1949 and 1950.
NY TV debut 12/24/48 at 7:40 pm on WPIX. Borzage's 1943 all-star extravaganza does not appear to have turned up on NYC TV again on Christmas Eve, at least until after 1984.
