Watching Prancer for the first time in about 30 years and it’s not so much filling me with the Christmas spirit as it is reminding me that childhood is terrible.
Why in god’s name would you want to leave that open to interpretation, you literal monster 
“And then Prancer flies away with Santa, or possibly leaps to his death! Who knows??? Anyway, merry Christmas kids!”
“The moral of the story is that if you are very kind & you believe in Santa & you do everything you can to save a reindeer’s life & inspire the whole town to believe in the magic of Christmas, the reindeer will probably commit suicide on Christmas.”
“John, are you okay buddy?”

Also there’s a whole scene where Prancer has an opportunity to run away but chooses to stay with the little girl so she doesn’t freeze to death. So it’s either a magic reindeer OR a deeply empathetic wild animal who is either suicidal or doesn’t understand cliffs? You decide!
Audience: So it’s definitely Prancer, right?
Director: *mysterious smile*
Audience: Because if it’s not Prancer, it definitely just jumped off a cliff & plunged to its death.
Director: *knowing shrug*
Audience: Do you understand how Xmas movies work?
