Back in 1997 there was a landmark case in Germany that determined that people who'd labored in the Lodz Ghetto would get credit toward German Social Security for that work.

The road has over the last decade become emblamatic of many things wrong with Naija. 2 failed concessions (2009, Jan 2015), a history of budgetary cuts,etc

Good news is that all of that now history, Road now been transferred to PIDF, a $650m Fund managed by @nsia_nigeria #Thread
PIDF took over three (3) critical road projects, to ensure they’re taken out of unpredictable budget cycles and to guarantee funding for them until completion: Second Niger Bridge, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. So, funding now guaranteed.
PS. Scope of work on the Expressway has recently been expanded, which probably also means a pushback of whatever completion date previously announced. For example the Lagos-Shagamu section is getting 2 new underpasses, 3 new FlyOvers, 2 Toll Plazas, and 10 new Pedestrian Bridges.

Been dating on and off for a while and i wanted to share some of my insights as to why alot of relationships dont work. #Thread
We meet amazing people and we generally like them within days. We go on fancy dates. Talk nonstop for hours and maybe steal kiss or two.
We start to have feelings and the dates start to be frequent, we hang out with other members of our social circle and invariably its almost like we are now in a relationship.

To the GSA leader: This is not about you! This is not about you being cool and popular. Teach history of gay rights, show films like “Gender Troubles: The Butches”. Build community where kids talk about real fears and challenges. (2/8)
To the Biology teacher: You represent reality. Talk about puberty. Talk about the physical and mental changes kids experience and the wrench that can throw into their idyllic childhood lives. Normalize the awkwardness and the angst. Show them WHY they struggle right now. (3/8)

So, remarkably today was my last day at GDS after six years so I'm going to treat/subject you to a thread...

Such mixed emotions. I've been so lucky to call this my workplace. It's been an absolute privilege so I am at once incredibly excited and desperately sad.
There's a lot to reflect on what I've done and what I've learnt in the six years since @ejhp's invitation to join @SarahPrag and @marksheldon on the team prepping to launch GOV.UK.
I spent a lot of those first months wrestling Business Link. And apparently I still can't escape it...@Shotclog reminded me he still had this folder the other day. It contains a hard drive of BL's 77,000 pages and all its associated miscellany. A white folder emblazoned with the original businesslink.gov.uk logo
