And now for a thread on the list of things I accomplished this year that I'm proud of:

1. In July right before my 25th birthday, after being emotionally intoxicated by the musical genius of @benhowardmusic and @MumfordAndSons for 9 years I deleted my Netflix to learn guitar.
2. I taught the 'Theory of Enchantment' around the world. What started out as an approach to having better convos about Israel on campus morphed into a general approach to conflict resolution of any nature. Now I've taught in Europe and America and look forward to expanding.
3. I finally stopped dragging my feet and started volunteering. I can't recommend this practice enough. It clarifies the mind and is a reminder of what truly matters in life. For me, its all about connecting people and elevating the human condition.
4. I had lunch with @SarahKSilverman . I still can't quite get over this one but I have a feeling we will remain in touch as we both work to foster deeper human connection in our own ways.
5. I started my own company, a consultancy. Check out what I do at theoryofenchantment.com I am both terrified and excited about the future which is what I'm told is exactly 100% how I should feel.
6. I wrote this piece for @Commentary : commentarymagazine.com/articles/white…

This was the first time I articulated my view that post-modernist views on race & art are fundamentally at odds with each other since great art is about human paradox & transcendence & redemption.
7. I got to be on @BridgetPhetasy 's podcast. Which will be forever great for its @jk_rowling jokes alone. (We love you Ms. Rowling.) Check out our conversation here: stitcher.com/podcast/ricoch…
8. I got to go on the @RubinReport. This was especially cool as it rounded out my year and help introduce concepts in the the 'theory of enchantment' to a wider audience. I'll always be grateful to Dave for having me on. Check out our discussion here:
9. I signed with a very successful literary agency. This will be my first time writing a book so I'm excited for the process and the grind. This book will be a self-help book all about the 'theory of enchantment' & I hope it'll help us all have better & stronger relationships.
For these and so much more, I am grateful and do give thanks.

Thank you all for continuing to follow me on this great adventure called life. I have a feeling it's going to be one hell of a ride. ;)

For every political foe you hate, know that their bad behavior is something you are capable of exhibiting, and in fact you probably have behaved that way before on some small level. Do you hate their callousness?

You too, like all of us, have had your moments of callousness.
And as you both have the capacity to be callous, you also both have the capacity to be benevolent and gracious.

It is not enough for you to deride your foe for being callous. You must be the model for benevolence and graciousness.
It is not enough for you to correct or ridicule your foe. You must also show him the way.

It is not enough to tell him he is being bad. You must also show him what it means to be good.

When I first heard @jordanbpeterson series analyzing the book of Genesis, I realized that his mind actually works in a similar way to that of jazz artists. The difference is he's using words whereas they are using chords. But both are making music and both are a sight to behold.
This is the same way Camille Paglia's mind works except, to use an analogy, she's a better musician. If Peterson is Charlie Parker, Paglia is Coltrane.
What's interesting is that, having been exposed to the music of Paglia's ideas, I find others whom society deems wise to be at best, boring.

Like Yuval Harari, whose book Sapiens I found to be dull and flat.

And I think Paglia would destroy Harari's ideas in debate.

The problem with @IfNotNowOrg is not its concern for the Arab community; the problem is that it is painting a caricatured image of what's going on on the ground -- the very caricature it claims to despise.
In fact there are many government initiatives at work on the ground that aim to not only minimize the occupation but invest in Arab communities.

It isn't perfect, and the Israeli govt. isn't angelic but nor is it monstrous. The problem is that @IfNotNowOrg is dishonest.

Back in 2016, @jBenson wrote an in-depth article "Inside the Troubled Development of Star Citizen" for @Kotaku_UK

It gave a very inside look into the development which - my blogs aside - had all the warning signs that the project was FUBAR.

Prior to that, only The Escapist had come close to doing any sort of research into the project's demise.

@TheEscapistMag got threatened with legal action by CIG. That got settled, and the article was later removed. But we have archives

That Benson article, had hints of how the Star Citizen "prototype" came to be, who helped create it etc.

It mentioned how Crytek devs like Sean Tracey, Paul Reindell and Hannes Appell became involved in the project.

It didn't go into Crytek's eventual extensive involvement
