Justice Ruther Bader Ginsburg is not at #SCOTUS today for arguments, the public information office announced, but will be participating in the cases on review of the filings and transcripts from today’s arguments.

Today's arguments will be the first time Justice Ginsburg has missed an argument since she joined the Supreme Court in 1993. She did not miss arguments while being treated for cancer previously, and did not miss any arguments following her recent broken ribs.

In today's two per curiam decisions, released in the orders, #SCOTUS reversed an excessive force decision out of the 9th Circuit and vacated a habeas grant out of the 6th Circuit. There were no noted dissents from either decision.
In both cases, the court said the issue was whether the right at issue was clearly established at the relevant time — for qualified immunity purposes in the 9th Circuit excessive force case and habeas relief in the death penalty 6th Circuit case.
