Thoughts on #uncivilwar #Brexit
1) I thought it was good on the whole. Lots of details not covered, focused a lot on Cummings & didn't cover the corruption in Vote Leave enough but at the end of the day it's a drama, not a documentary
2) there's a lot of stuff Brexit geeks like me would have like to have seen covered but as it was, there was a lot of material in there which they covered at breakneck speed.

Couple of things jumped out for me though
3) Firstly the mood at the end of the film captured I think the mood in the country now. There is no joy in #Brexit, no triumphant outpouring.

No one is getting what they want, and Leave supporters are blaming others for Brexit not working
4) Secondly the whole manipulation of the middle 3rd.
For all those who say "well, no one told *me* to vote Leave via a Facebook ad", well, they're probably confirmed leave voters so maybe they weren't targeted.

But millions *were* targeted by billions of specialised ads
5) it may have been about sovereignty for some, trade deals for others but for a sufficient number of people, maybe only a couple of million, maybe more it was about "£350 M and Turkey"
6) and this for me is the biggest & most important takeaway of #UncivilWar
If a bunch of disconnected boys with toys can say absolutely anything at all & engage in a mass psycho marketing experiment, just because they can, how can this set our nation's direction?
7) Because that is what Vote Leave did - as a giant experiment pre the Trump campaign they targeted a few million swing/non voters, determined their main issues & systematically blamed them on the EU, to see if they could secure their vote at a point in time
This isn't democracy
