One of the data streams we work with is NOAA's GHCN-Daily weather archive.

Since the US shutdown began, about 10% of expected US weather stations are not being recorded in GHCN-D. In addition, a large number of foreign stations are also not being merged into the archive.
Looking at what stations have been impacted, the biggest foreign drop-outs are from Australia and Canada.
It is not uncommon for foreign data imports into GHCN-D to be temporarily delayed or interrupted. However, with the government shutdown, it is less likely that anyone will be available to investigate or resolve problems that may arise.
As GHCN-D is *not* a feeder for weather forecasting models, delays in updating GHCN-D will have no impact on weather forecasting.

However, it would not be surprising if the shutdown also causes some interruptions or delays in NOAA's other collection and monitoring programs.
