They have ruined the whole country and wish to end lives at the next level but those destined to be a victim of oppression won’t make the attempt to be conscious. This disaster must never be allowed to continue. #NeverAgain
However much my statement may address lack of accountability and insincerity of Government, it doesn’t excuse the misleading headline. The liquidity management system (Bonds & Treasury Bills) is what it is as risk free ventures. So this is not an indictment on the admin.
According to @zeal_a saying the admin borrowed pension funds is like saying CBN and government have borrowed bank deposits. It is customary for banks to place deposits with CBN and never have we seen a headline that says Govt borrowed deposited funds in CBN’s coffers.
So as a Global practice, whether the pension funds administrators invest in bonds and securities of government (Risk free since government is a going concern that can not liquidate) or keep the money at CBN, it is still in the hands of Govt to be deployed as necessary.
The headline is only playing on the dearth of trust in the current administration and baiting readers with juicy headlines that can be deployed as a weapon to bludgeon defenders of the admin on FaceValue. Readers beware. The punch colunmist is a trouble maker. 😇
