At some point in the last month, we reached a point of near-consensus that Britain would have to ask for an extension of Article 50.
Worth pointing these things out, because not so long ago it was considered unsayable that Article 50 would be extended. Now that is the accepted opinion of most commentators.
Fwiw I expect this to be May's next capitulation to reality. Her PMQs answer to Ken Clarke yesterday showed they'd actively discussed it in Downing Street.

Don't think that Labour amendment gets us anywhere or moves things forward, really.
It;s just a description of its vague, borderline meaningless Brexit policy, in amendment form.
A People's Vote proposal will struggle in the Commons even if Labour leadership whips in favour of it. A free vote means it doesn't have a chance.

Important to remember how much work had to be done in order to secure this. A tireless parliamentary battle, just to ensure a basic level of scrutiny.
She is not coming because she wants to. She is being dragged here by the will of parliament.

Let's make this really fucking clear because people ain't getting it. You cannot rule out no-deal. It happens by default on March 29th. The only way to stop it is to secure a parliamentary majority for an alternative.
That can be several things. Article 50 extension. An alternate deal. A People's Vote. But just saying 'we rule it out' doesn't change anything. We need a majority for an alternative.
This is fucking basic man. There is no excuse for not understanding it.

When I think about the fact that a company has my DNA and I paid them in exchange for knowing something more about my ancestry... sometimes I feel bad for... idk, “falling for it”? Considering how some of these companies can be when it comes to having your genetic material
But at the same time, I can’t just trace my family lineage back 24 generations and easily tell people “oh I’m half German and part Scottish and Italian.” Like, being the descendants of west African slaves, it’s so hard
Tracing backwards you gotta figure out their names, the plantations they were on, were they sold multiple times, were they separated from family, if so and that family were parents, gotta find those parents to keep tracing the line back...

Mallya showed up for CBI interrogation. Travelled abroad and returned. All this was to create the false impression that he was not going to flee. It was a criminal mind's work. That #CBI fell for it is amazing. Does not speak highly of its leadership. 3/n

Boy, there's "Just The Facts" reporting, and then there's this Politico story about how Trump shreds or tears up papers when he's done with them without any mention of reasons why a person might do that... politico.com/story/2018/06/…
...and that also mentions that the presidential records team, including two people who spent their time taping back together the papers he destroyed, has been purged of longtime careerists and reduced in size, also without hinting at possible reasons.
I know there's a difference between news and speculation, but presenting Trump's "enduring habit" of destroying papers as a sort of goofball quirk, without adding the context of Trump Org's systematic destruction of records or his aversion to email or anything that leaves records

1/ Remember last month’s Daily Mail headline ‘Another Human Rights Fiasco!’? The one lots of people were saying was based on a series of false claims? Well, today the Daily Mail have printed a fulsome correction. Please share this thread to get the facts out
2/ In summary there were two key claims that were false. First, that the claimant was a ‘suspected Iraqi insurgent’. In fact, the court found that the claims against him were ‘pure fiction’ and had been manufactured to strengthen the case against him
3/ Second, that he was awarded £33k for being kept in custody too long. In fact, £30k of that was for being beaten by soldiers and being inhumanly treated.
