THREAD: Five Easy Examples of Collusion for Rudy Giuliani (1/12) themoscowproject.org/dispatch/five-…
In case you missed it, Rudy Giuliani basically admitted last night that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. (2/12) washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/w…
That’s been obvious for a long time. Here are five major examples of collusion—all of which are pretty serious offenses, no matter how much Giuliani tries to move the goalposts: (3/12) themoscowproject.org/dispatch/five-…
1. Donald Trump Jr. got an explicit offer of dirt as “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.” He enthusiastically accepted, then brought in the campaign chairman and Jared Kushner for the June 9 meeting in Trump Tower. (4/12) themoscowproject.org/explainers/col…
2. Roger Stone had a backchannel to WikiLeaks, which he appears to have used to learn advance information about what emails they’d be releasing and when. (5/12) themoscowproject.org/dispatch/its-o…
3. George Papadopoulos learned in advance from a Kremlin-linked professor that Russia had stolen and planned to publish the Clinton campaign’s emails. (6/12) themoscowproject.org/dispatch/schif…
4. Carter Page, whom the U.S. intel community repeatedly tabbed as a possible Russian agent, traveled to Moscow—with explicit approval from campaign leadership—to meet with high-ranking Kremlin officials. (7/12) themoscowproject.org/dispatch/nunes…
5. Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, the campaign chairman and his deputy, shared internal polling data with a Russian intel operative, then asked him to forward it to pro-Kremlin oligarchs. (8/12) nytimes.com/2019/01/08/us/…
And those are just the most damning of the Trump team’s 100+ contacts, including 28 meetings, with Kremlin-linked operatives, in which they shared polling data, opposition research, policy plans, and campaign strategy. (9/12) themoscowproject.org/explainers/tru…
The defense is now that the president somehow had nothing to do with the conduct that will likely land his campaign chairman, deputy campaign chairman, national security adviser, and personal lawyer in prison. (10/12) themoscowproject.org/dispatch/inter…
But that’s ridiculous. Trump ran the Trump campaign—and we already know he was more than willing to use dirty or downright illegal tactics to win. (11/12) themoscowproject.org/dispatch/trump…
It’s impossible to believe that Trump wasn’t involved in the single biggest choice the campaign made: the decision to collude with a hostile foreign power actively attacking American democracy. (12/12) themoscowproject.org/dispatch/five-…
