Consistently @a_cormier_ and @JasonLeopold have delivered unique and narrative-shifting reporting on a subject where it’s incredibly difficult to get even an incremental scoop, and they’ve seen it confirmed by action in court.
I’ve gotta put in a word for some other miners of this particular vein as well—my colleagues @hunterw and @BrettRedacted, whose reporting that the duration of the project had been concealed is cited in BuzzFeed’s original Trump Moscow story from last May. yahoo.com/news/michael-c…

We see, in the weight of that fairly nonspecific denial, the capital Peter Carr and the SCO have built up through twenty months of generally declining to speak about investigative matters.
I asked if the wording of the Special Counsel’s statement is meant to exclude statements, testimony or documents obtained in the first instance by another DOJ component (like SDNY).

“I don’t have any additional information beyond our statement at this time,” Peter Carr says.
These are the two key paragraphs of the BF story that the SCO is disputing, as I read their statement. Both say that the SCO obtained its confirmation directly from Cohen, but they don’t say that SCO obtained the other evidence in the first instance. bzfd.it/2Hkk8fb

A thing I want to note here: Whitaker's wife says the Mueller investigation is "by all accounts... wrapping up." That's arguably newsworthy, given who she is, but crucially we don't know if any of the "accounts" she's relying on are new or insider info.
Marci Whitaker could, plausibly and without misleading anyone, be repeating the existing, opaquely-sourced, published news accounts that indicate the Mueller probe is near finishing. And by virtue of her close ties to the DOJ, she may create another story to the same effect.

#SCOOP (thread): 13 rescue pods commissioned by #ElonMusk for the #ThailandCaveRescue have been flown to Thailand. They are designed to transport the boys by floating or submersion, and can also be used as a rescue sled. They are awaiting news about the rescue operation.
2/ Andrew Branagh of the northern California company Wing Inflatables states "The rescue pods are designed so they are like a belt chamber"
3/ Branagh says that when you turn the pods one way it allows them to float, and "when you turn them another way they sink."
