One of the days I will never forget in my life. The day I was wrongfully accused of rape when I was in school. A terrible experience I don’t even like to remember at all.

With no disrespect to women please. I think men should really learn to be very careful dealing with women. Fear women!
That’s why I laugh when I see a man comparing himself with a woman. These people are stronger than you and can totally destroy you if they want to. Be careful!

When in school, my elder brother used to come pick my dirty clothes up fortnightly for washing. One day, he came to see me together with mom. Then, my sister was planning to visit us in naija. So they were making preparations....

When they came, a lady (neighbor; hostel mate) ran to meet me..”khay, your brother is around, I’m planning to go to town, can I wait till they’re leaving so they can help me with free ride?” No problem, I said.

This same girl was bringing me food when I just moved to the lodge, but I was giving the food to a friend. She stopped when she found out. This same girl came to ask me one day if I was seeing someone.
Same girl told me how my mattress is big and nice, she wanted to sleep over.

Then I knew I’ve entered wahala. All the girls in the lodge wanted to know who I was dating. I really don’t know why. Anyway, when mum was leaving, I told them a friend would be following them. Mom said no problem. She was even happy to help.

From that that, I noticed, this girl would come to me to borrow almost every damn thing. Even money. And if I say I don’t have, her next statement would be “you are a big boy, you can never be broke”. 😏

I actually didn’t read any meaning to it, until one day she made it so obvious and I felt somehow, I had to call my brother and asked, what their discussion was all about when they helped the girl. He said nothing really other than my sis preparation. I was like damn!

I decided to move out of the place. I so much cherish my privacy. I don’t joke with my peace of mind. There is a girl I was trying to get close to, she was a year ahead of me in school. Not knowing that, she was close to Amara, my former neighbor.

Amara went ahead to tell her that I’m very rich, from a rich background and all that. Isssh....I’m damn no rich. I just don’t drink, smoke, party and all those things that leaves many broke in school.
Amara told her, she’d better make use of the opportunity. Sigh.

I noticed the girl started demanding for money, the body lotion my sis brought, the hair oil....and all were missing. I asked her and she told me she took them. Hehe, without telling me, she said after all I’ll go home and get another one, that it’s only her I’m stingy to..🙆🏽‍♀️

That Amara told her how I was nice to them when I was living in their compound, that I av a sis abroad which I never told her and all that......oh I get!
I say her down and explained everything to her. She was understanding. Thank God.

One day we were going out, we were running late, so she told me to help her get a note from Amara, cos I could walk faster, she was on hills....Amara’s door was not closed. My girl was at the gate, I knocked the door, she said I should come in. Amara was in the bathroom I think.

Meanwhile we called before I got there they we were coming. My girl told her to give khay if we see.... that’s how Amara came out of the bathroom and closed the door....I told her my gal was at the gate, we are in a haste....

The next thing I heard was, helpppppppp, people help, khay wants to rape me....Jesusss🙆🏽‍♀️. Rape how? Initially I tot she was joking, till those girls started coming in and started blaming me...my gal didn’t know what was happening inside.

Even the one I Let could be understanding believed her and started shouting at me. Before I knew it, they’ve called the “man o war”. How on earth would my girl be at the gate and y’all saying I wanted to rape someone, Just how? Later my girl came and was shocked.

They didn’t even allow her to talk. Amara called her to one side. I couldn’t even hear anything. Man o war came to pick me. I got to their office, they told me to sit on the floor, about to treat me like a criminal when their oga came and said; I know this guy, easy going.......

I like and respect him, don’t let him sit on the floor. So she gave me a chair to sit. They’ve called the police, waiting for them to come pick me up. Automatic expulsion. For sure. I was just like what kinda life is this my God.

Not too long I just heard the voice of my girl, shouted “Nooo” this is so unfair. I have conscience and I won’t be at peace if I don’t speak up. She forced her way to the man o war office and told them to allow her speak.....

They allowed her and she told them it was a set up. Amara did. She didn’t know it would go to this extent. She couldn’t take it, she had to speak up. It wasn’t funny at all. I was just looking and praying. My education and my name was at stake.

They had a round table talk for hours and they all agreed I write an undertaking. Terrible experience. I was crying as I was writing the undertaking. Something I absolutely don’t know anything about. But I thank God still.

The worst part was how those people esp the girls that didn’t know anything about it believed her. Just imagine what it could have caused me? Just imagine!
It’s something I really don’t like to think about. Just imagine!

I so much detest RAPE, bt eva since that day, I will neva eva be a judge to what I did not witness. I hardly take sides and if at all I’m to do that, I carefully do.
If u did not see it, if u did not witness it, please be wise enough not to take side else that might 4eva haunt u
