I attended a Christian school starting in kindergarten. The teachers pretended to love me and care for me, working for a fraction of the salary they could make in public education because they considered it a ministry. Horrible people. #ExposeChristianSchools
As I progressed through my education, I learned what they wanted me to learn. My classes seemed harder than the coloring projects my cousin was doing in his public school. Dirty scum Christians! #ExposeChristianSchools
In high school, I learned so much from one particular teacher that my entry-level courses in college were a breeze. I'm still convinced that evil piece of trash of a man was trying to deny me the full college experience. #ExposeChristianSchools
Another time in high school I was actually disciplined because my hair was too long. They had very explicit rules about hair length and other expected behaviors and when you violated them there were consequences. WHAT SOCIETY FUNCTIONS LIKE THAT!!! #ExposeChristianSchools
After graduating nearly at the top of my class… of 11 kids, I went to a public college. It was devastating. I had been assured that my education had ill-prepared me for this, that I had been sheltered, and that I would struggle. ALL LIES! #ExposeChristianSchools
Those filthy animals at the Christian school had secretly planned something different. I didn't struggle. I made friends without difficulty. One of them used the F-word 7 times in each sentence. I didn't melt despite my indoctrination. I liked that guy. #ExposeChristianSchools
Academically, the college experience was difficult. I got better grades than nearly everyone in my Computer Science courses, except sometimes my brother who had also been through the wringer of Christian education. #ExposeChristianSchools
It was difficult because a lot of people wanted to study with us, asked about homework constantly, and wanted to be in our group for projects. I blame those dirt bags at my Christian school for all of it. #ExposeChristianSchools
When my wife and I had children, we decided to send them to the same Christian school, despite my earlier treatment. My son had the same kindergarten teacher I did, This woman had sacrificed 100s of thousands of dollars in salary over the years. EVIL! #ExposeChristianSchools
They teach my kids traditional Christian values, which I can sort of understand because… they're Christians. It's the same stuff I was taught. I hope they don't end up like me - working from home, good salary, happy… #ExposeChristianSchools
Oh, the money thing! I make a decent amount of it, honestly, but I keep giving a bunch of it away! To my church, to charities, to people who just need something. What the ever-loving crap is that? Thanks a lot, Christian education! #ExposeChristianSchools
They made my kid go sing at a nursing home a couple weeks ago. The old people loved it. Rotten Christians. The boys do reasonably well in school, laugh a lot, make friends easily, and mostly behave. It could be a front. I'm afraid it's happening again. #ExposeChristianSchools
I teach children's church with my brother-in-law at church (another survivor). I suppose it's because I still haven't fully recovered from… being a Christian. In church, my kids know their Bible better than others. I blame Christian education. #ExposeChristianSchools
I've learned in the high school they teach "purity" classes. The idea is that you should wait until marriage for sex. Do I want to expose my children to that? Can they be healthy without a cadre of sexual partners and the associated risks? #ExposeChristianSchools
The culture has changed a lot since I was in school. I was assured that people like me hate those who don't practice my Christian beliefs. I don't. Apparently, I'm broken. I blame my Christian teachers for teaching me we are to love everyone. #ExposeChristianSchools
I do worry my children may struggle in the current culture. You see, not everyone is being taught to "love one another". I fear their Christian education may make them intolerable to the tolerant. #ExposeChristianSchools
I guess it's a risk I'll have to take because I'm a Christian and I believe there are worse fates than tolerant people disapproving of your beliefs. #ExposeChristianSchools
All in all, when I tuck my decent, smart, loving kids into bed tonight, kiss my beautiful wife goodnight, and drift off to sleep in my nearly-owned home, I'll think of my teachers and all they've done to me and whisper, "CURSE YOU, CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS!" #ExposeChristianSchools
(But it will sound a lot like "THANK YOU!") #ExposeChristianSchools
